A conceptual based project focusing on the word ‘trace’. The aim of the project was to be experimentational and to discover what ‘trace’ could be. From a initial range of exploration using different media, I focused on visually representing traces of sound. An echo is a ‘single reflection’ and a trace of sound. Each poster represents an echo of a room or space, identifying the reflection of sound and interpreting these echoes visually using Letraset transfers. Using the original Letraset designs, I asked a range of art students to say what they thought each visual represented and what they could see. Each poster was given a ‘name’ from a combination of the most popular and interesting responses, creating an identity for each design.
